I ran track in spring of 9th, winter and spring of 10th, and winter of 11th, then quit. It was for a lot of reasons - I didn't really have the drive to do it anymore, my body changed and I couldn't give the physical commitment anymore, I didn't have much time, and the girls on the team really were kind of nasty and mean and catty and talk-behind-your-back and I felt better off without their influence.
My important ecs are marching band (5 years) orchestra (6 years) and girl scouts (13 years).
My question is, what is your opinion on putting track onto my apps or leaving it off?
And for Brown, where I get to write about the ecs, if I put track on, should I say something to explain why I quit?

By all means, put it down. There's no need to fear you'll be labelled a "quitter". Adcoms know that interests change. Your music and GSA stuff will be fine.

Heck, I had to quit band after eight years because SOMETHING in my schedule had to give my Senior year (six AP classes). There's nothing wrong w/changing interests -- although some naysayers on this site will say your dropping track will show "lack of commitment". I say that's paranoia.

Good luck w/completing your apps.
