EC Questions????

<p>I am a junior with a 4.07 GPA, a 34 on my ACT and would like to attend Duke, Notre Dame, Emory or possibly an ivy.... although not to sure about that.. I am looking at Medical school eventually.</p>

<p>My question is this.</p>

<p>I am a junior tour player golfer and that is my passion. I practice every day and play in tournaments on weekends. I literally do not have much time to volunteer, although I am involved in the Beta club and my Science Olympiad team as a secretary. I should say that I also have my black belt in Karate.</p>

<p>Does this hurt my chances at a top tier school because of my time and practice commitments in golf? Will school administrators think that I was somehow "slacking" in my EC activities? I can assure them that golf and Karate are not slacking activities...</p>

<p>Just looking for your general thoughts on this and wondering if I need to cut back on golf and pick up a few EC's.

<p>would you be able to volunteer over summers when you’re not involved with school activities? I don’t think there’s really an excuse for not using your summer breaks to their full potential, even if you are a phenomenal golfer :/</p>
