I just finished my junior year of high school, and I really want to go to get a scholarship for undergrad, so my parents do not have to pay. I live in Greenville and hope to get into the EC Scholars program, so as to get a full scholarship to ECU. What are my chances of getting in with these numbers? I HAVE looked at the requirements from ECUs website, but I honestly am still uncertain as to whether I would make it or not.

Please let me know if you think I will get into this college (don’t sugarcoat)
Thanks in advance to anyone replying! Let me know if I need to add anything else that will factor into the
@Nurse001 Thanks for the reply - I know I will get into ECU, but I was specifically asking about the Honors College and the EC Scholars Program - do you think I will get accepted into those (EC Scholars is a full ride scholarship I believe)?
My daughter is in HC and loves it. You look good for HC. Scholars is much harder than it looks on paper, many of them are first in their class, so don’t be upset if you don’t get an offer for scholars, but it doesn’t hurt to apply.
I will add that people from Greenville seem to do even better with HC than other NC high schools, I assume it is because the advisors there lead the kids towards ECU. I would attend when ECU visits at your school and meet the rep and go to ECU and meet with admin at the HC, make it clear that you are interested. We are in Raleigh and no one even talked about ECU HC, we came across it by chance.
My daughter is also in the HC there and applied for the scholars. One of her high school classmates got the scholars. My daughter had higher things then you listed. She was also a National Merit Finalist which the other student was not. However my daughter is an introvert which was a minus. For the scholars it is important that they represent the school and are more extroverted. More of the scholars do come from the Eastern part of the state so that looks good for you. Also, note that they are two levels of HC. What my daughter and her friends in the HC noticed was that the essay was very important in determining their level. Those that didn’t spend time to write a good one didn’t get the higher level. Good luck. My daughter has been happy there.
Hello! I am an EC Scholar, and you seem very impressive! Your selection isn’t totally about grades, but they’re why you get invited to Selection Sunday. That’s a Sunday in February where all of the people trying out for scholars get together and meet the Scholars, have interviews, and get to know the campus.
The program is amazing, and I’m very happy with where I am right now. I feel that you have good chance at getting into the HC at ECU. From what I understand, EC Scholars is based more on your interviews at Selection Sunday.
I only sent in my ACT and it’s around the equivalent of your SAT. My GPA was a little higher but GPA is just a number.
@ECU2022 Hi! I just received notice that I was selected as a chancellor’s fellow today and was just wondering how you find out if you’re invited to compete for the EC Scholars award. Did it come in the initial invitation to the honors college or was it later? Thanks!
Hi there! I received mail today from ECU and it was my honors college acceptance. my sat score was a 1250 (1280 superscored) and my gpa is between a 3.5-4.0.For the most part, we have similar extracurriculars. I was accepted to ECU, invited to apply for the honors college, and got accepted into the honors college and received a scholarship of $2,500. considering my scores arent great, if the admissions pool is similar for when you apply, you should definitely get a bigger scholarship than me. i didnt apply to EC Scholars because I was too lazy to answer the application questions, but i wouldnt worry if i was you
