Im pretty curious how my extra-curriculars help me in the application race that is going to come up next year. Ive done all these ECs because Ive thought they were/are interesting but I dont know how much they will help me. Basically Im asking if these ECs will help me in the admissions process.

By the end of my junior year, I'll probably have an average GPA, 4.20 (W) and 3.88 (UW) (I had a bad freshman year). My SATs (the new one) will probably be okay - good, but I think my ECs make me stand out.

By the beginning of my senior year, I'll have done the following things:

2 straight summers of interning at the Breakthrough collaborative. Basically BC, is where you become a teacher for 8 weeks, and teach a course to middle school students. Although BT is a large internship, its mostly for college students, with probably only 50 (out of 400) interns being HS students. Last summer I taught physics, this summer will probably be bio. I held a leadership position last summer, which was representing the site at a yearly speech to both parents (one day) and local business leaders (another day). Audience members included the VP of Applied Materials. He said I spoke better than some CEOs he has met!

I helped start a tutoring company called Results Tutoring Group. This is pretty straightforward (in addition to being VP, I'm also a tutor, tutoring 5 hrs/wk).

I'm currently starting a branch of RTG called Results Music Group, where several high school students provide music lessons for junior high/elementary school students.

I've started a few clubs at my high school. National History Club, and next year I'm going to start a branch of UNICEF at my HS (been researching all this year)

And finally, I've done some scientific research dealing with UVB/UVC rays and white blood cells. I've won a couple awards for this. Im currently trying to develop a new project pertaining to problem solving/sleeping.

Yearbook! Frosh year I was a staff member, soph/junior year I am/was a section editor, next year, if everything goes just right, I'll be editor in chief. Our yearbook is ranked high the nation, and it's basically like managing a company (budget = over $130,000 and profits = over $180,000)

And finally, photography. Im thinking of submitting a portfolio as a supplement with my application.
