i want to major in business

what kind of ECs would look great for my resume?

i live in a small town in Canada

So there isn't as many intern opportunities like in New York or something.

but i'm pretty sure there's something to do..

what kind of ecs have you guys done or are you doing?

many and detailed answers would be appreciated

thanks in advance.

How about actually working? Colleges look at that equally with ECs.

–Get a part-time job
–Do you play a sport? Do you play an instrument? In a band? What clubs/EC’s do you enjoy?
–Community Service

Colleges look for commitment (meaning, you stay involved in an EC throughout high school rather than quit multiple EC’s over the course of time). They look for maturity and students who show that they are capable of responsibility (get a part-time job). They look for students with passions (music, art, athletics, etc.).

Most importantly, they focus on GPA, rigor of your curriculum, and SAT/ACT scores followed by teacher recommendations and essays. All the EC’s in the world will not make up for deficiencies in academic statistics.

I originally wanted to go into business, but changed my mind junior year, and decided I’d much rather go into medicine. But sophomore year, I decided to start up my own charity, which is actually extremely successful, and we donated all the proceeds.

Creating a charity is good for any major, but especially business, I would think, since they are seeing you are able to handle managing a “business” of some kind. And when it collects a large sum of money, it probably looks even better since more revenue is generated through marketing, which is a major part of business.

Good luck
