So I've been lookin at some of the chance threads and the ECs are amazing. Any tips on how to get started with ECs? I'm interested in math and science, and the only major EC I have so far is tutoring and swimming year round.

Maths Olympiads?

You could start a math club at your school. Also don’t be afraid to try something outside of your current interests. You should try volunteering somewhere (maybe a local science museum) and try and gain some leadership.

Contact professors to do research.

Thanks guys. I was actually thinking about starting a Mu Alpha Theta chapter at my school.
@bil How exactly do I contact them? Should I just email professors and ask them if they need help doing research?
And how would you guys recommend
“gaining some leadership?”

You can run/apply for board positions and various roles in clubs (like vice president or membership officer). The more involved you are in places/organizations the more likely for you to gain leadership. It does take time though to accumulate leadership positions,

A nice, polite email would suffice. Don’t sound pretentious as you are not going to be an expert (I still am not and I’ve been doing research with professors for a while). Write about why their research interests you and how you could be of help.
