Ec?

So I have a friend who's debating whether or not to do marching band this year. He's going to be a senior, and this would be his third year doing it. His instructor has informed him that if he decides to participate, he will be promoted to the highest level of band available at our school. He would also be placed in the second chair position for his instrument (out of 3). It lasts a month in the summer and two months into the school year.

He argues that mb would be too time consuming and would detrimentally effect his grades. The ec activity ends at 6:30 each weekday and takes up all of Saturday. I have countered that continuation would show dedication and passion.

On a somewhat unrelated note, he is probably going to take a position at a local Music & Arts store.

Thoughts?

Also, if you couldn’t tell from the post, He doesn’t want to do it :P

…why would you waste your time doing something you do not want to do because it may or may not help you get into college… i never understand this

March band does take a lot of time and not sure that really help that much as long as you have other ec. S1 dropped after 3 years. S2 dropped after 2 year. Both would have liked to continue with band but just not enough time to do marching band also.
