ECE at GA Tech

so im going to georgia tech next year. i have been looking at what i want to study there.
what i was thinking of right now was majoring in computer engineering and then minoring in Biomed engineering and economics.
Going in, I should have about 35 credits from AP classes
Do you think this is possible/a good idea?
Thanks

I wasn’t aware you could minor in BME. There are courses in ECE that are cross-listed with BME. I suggest sticking with that so that you do not have to take extra courses. If you want to minor in economics, that’s really your choice. I think CS is a much, much more common minor though.

Well i really dont care too much about a minor in econ
the thing is, i want to get a graduate degree in biomedical engineering. i was reading that sometimes its better if you want to get a higher degree in biomed to get a undergrad degree in something like EE or CmpE or Mechanical to get a good basis. also i was thinking that these would give me more options when i left college, so i wouldnt be restrained to just biomed

biomed is a very broad field and any engineering company would hire you just based on your engineering bme degree. i say bme, it’s a great program

so do you think if i majored in biomed, i would be able to get a job/go to grad school in some other engineering field, maybe like electrical engieering?

Maybe, but don’t expect to not take some extra courses. For example, BME majors only take stuff like circuits 1 (second year ECE course). The same can be said trying to go ECE->BME, though ECE does have a bioengineering graduate program.

Actually BME have to take ECE 2025 - Introduction to signal processing which isn’t a circuits driven class. It’s one of the more horrible ECE classes in my opinion. The labs aren’t fun either.
