As of now I’m in the middle of my engineering science associates at a community college. I plan on transferring to Rutgers school of engineering for electrical and computer engineering. I have been told that completing the associates degree at community college I will be guaranteed Junior level status at Rutgers, but it seems not true.
There seems to be a few differences with class requirements for the associates degree at Middlesex community college and the requirements for the first 2 years at Rutgers. For instance, specifically for ECE students Rutgers does not require chemistry 2 and physics3 including labs, but the engineering associates at Middlesex requires it.
I have been told by a transfer advisor at Middlesex that by completing the associates degree I would have a better chance at getting into Rutgers, but that I may have to take an extra class or so.
If I was to complete exactly what Rutgers requires for the first two years then I would be at Junior level, but could possible be more difficult to get in.
Is my information correct? Any advice for which path to take? I feel that with a strong GPA I should just complete Rutgers requirements and apply.
Thanks for in advance.
