eco consortium schools, progressives...

Hey, there has been a constantly compiling list on College Confidential about Eco Friendly (hippie-ish)/Progressive colleges (block scheduling, narrative evaluations) - Colleges like these:

Evergreen State
Goddard College
Hampshire
Hendrix
Oberlin
Prescott
New College of Florida
Colorado College
College of the Atlantic
Antioch College (if it were open.)

There are many others, I realize...But I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for CHEAP versions of these schools? I just can't afford any of them, i'm in a tough situation where I am still judged by my parent's income, but they are not in the financial situation to be able to help me - and as a result I am not getting any substantial fasfa aid.

I realize that the price tag for most of these schools are most likely a result of their style, but even schools like Evergreen State (cheapest as far as i am aware) are basically undo-able with out-of-state tuition in my eyes. I don't want to go into debt over a not tremendously lucrative major. I was hoping that there might be some colleges across the cuontry that have schools within a bigger school that I didn't know about-something similar to Fairhaven at Western Washington University? Or just something smaller...
I am basically getting a humanities-esque major, Media and Cultural studies. I live in Kansas, hence the lack of in state residency at any of these awesome schools.....

Thanks :)

What job are you wanting to get after you graduate? which company?

that is a fantastic question… i really have no idea. The fantasy job would be a nationally known museum (in Seattle, Cali, Minneapolis ), or teaching/writing/research at a university.
Bhe back up plan who is whatever company that will take me in a position like Director of Art/ Media Management. I would REALLY like to go to grad school to make the former more of a possibility. . .

Both KU and KState offer ecology degrees which would be much more affordable for you.

Sorry Erin’s Dad, i think you confused what I was saying- I am looking for a green college (environmentally friendly) school, not an ecology degree.

I am looking for a degree in media and cultural studies (or New Media, Media Management, etc).
