Econ 001 601

So I'm a high school taking Intro Microeconomics at Penn and I got a 63 on the first midterm because I didn't have enough time to study. I heard that the curve is really harsh. Am I screwed even if I do well on the next 2 tests?

I have heard the first microeconomics exam is very tough. In fact, there is a tradition built around the night before the first exam called “econ scream”

With that in mind, you are probably not the only one who found it difficult.

Wow really???
I didn’t find it really difficult, it’s just that there’s 8 multiple choice worth 5 points each, I missed 5…that’s already a 75 lol.

I didn’t have enough time to study because of other responsibilities but I did study for it but I still didn’t do well…
I guess I shouldn’t worry…There’s 2 more exams left.

Since you are in High School, do you participate in the GREAT program on line or do you on campus for that as well?

Nope.

Neither? Well, there’s a problem for you right there. You will be at a disadvantage come exam time. You might want to consider making time for office hours and switching to GREAT.

ETA: I think it might be called my Econ lab if you are doing the on line version.

No thank you. But I will try to go to office hours but the problem is that it’s 3-5pm. I’ll be only able to get there by 4:30.

Why don’t you want to do GREAT? That meets in the evening so you have plenty of time to get there. I guess if you don’t want to put in the work, better to figure that out now before you commit to attending a really tough school next year.

I don’t know where to go for that plus I don’t have time because I’m too busy.

That makes your entire story ring untrue.

Perhaps you should drop if you don’t have time to learn the material.

Well I sort of have time now. And I’d rather not withdraw.

Is there anyone good in Econ that can help me?

FFFFFFFFFFFF IM SCREWED

I’m withdrawing…I hope it won’t affect my admissions chance at Penn…I’m a HS student…(better than a D)

I have a question. Is it bad to start with a withdraw before freshman year?
