does that sound like death? or maybe it might be kind of useful, because the material might overlap?
i'm thinking of doing both during session C. Either that, or econ1 and math 31b, but from the reviews of Dai on bruinwalk, he's not the greatest math teacher...

I haven’t taken Econ 1 and 2 at the same time, but I’m taking Econ 2 and 41 in the Fall together. I think both should be manageable but I’d like to hear what others think about this too!

Econ 2 and 41 should be fine. Econ 41 doesn’t really feel like an Econ class. It’s basically AP Statistics.

I never took Econ 1 & 2 at UCLA, so I can’t comment on how difficult it would be. The material shouldn’t overlap too much though. One is micro and one is macro so it’s a different outlook on things.

Thanks Altema!! I have another question if greentea doesn’t mind me asking in the same thread: After taking Econ 2 and 41 in the fall, I’m planning on taking Econ 11 in Winter and applying for the major in Spring quarter. Does this sound feasible? Econ 11 is my last econ prerequisite.

Btw greentea, I think for session C taking Econ 1 and math 31B would be a better bet! So you can concentrate on one type of econ and do well in it.

^ Before this year, the last time Sproul ever taught an Econ course during a regular (non summer) term was a decade ago - in 1999. I think it’s very hit or miss whether you get a good prof, since a few great visiting faculty only register on the radar once in a blue moon while the “core” group of tenured profs and longtime visiting lecturers - the ones who teach at least once a year without fail and weather the storm, budget cuts and all - are not all that exciting.
