I want to explore the Economics major a bit next semester, and I'm having a lot of trouble figuring out which classes are right for me. Could those of you who have taken Econ 1,2 or Stats 20, 21, 21X, 25 please share your experiences?

Econ 2 isn’t offered anymore so your only two options are Econ 1 and Econ C3. Only do C3 if you’re set on doing environmental economics; otherwise, Econ 1 is the clear choice (and only choice for Haas.)

Stat 20, 21 and 25 cover the same topics. Stat 20 is geared toward social sciences so the problems sets will include questions relevant to a range of fields such a psychology and political science. Stat 21 has a harsher curve than 20, teaches the same concepts but applies them instead to business and economics instead. Stat 25 is slightly more mathematical and geared toward engineers.

That was really helpful. Thank you for sharing.
