ECON 201 Large vs. Small Section

Hi,

I was wondering for anyone who has taken ECON 201, what would be easier in terms of the class and professor. Like I know in ECON 201, Dennis O Dea is going to teach the next quarter in the large section, but he sounds like a pretty tough person (2 midterms, 1 final, pop quizzes, etc.)

For example, in ECON 200, I had the option to take Ellis (large) or a smaller section. Ellis grades are based mostly on the midterm and final, and average is about an 80.5%. His grades are 25% Homework/Quizzes, 33% Midterm, 42% Final, and these are pop quizzes (which there are about 4-5). Lectures are 80 minutes long in the morning for two days a week, and one quiz section that’s 80 minutes long.

Smaller sections in ECON 200 had only two midterms, no final, participation grades (about like 10%), free response questions that are take-home, organized quiz dates rather than pop quizzes, and meet up 50 minutes lectures that are spread out (or 80 minutes lectures for 2 days a week). The bad thing though is that THERE IS NO QUIZ SECTION.

So I was wondering, for registering for ECON 201, which would be better in terms of grading scale (like not having a huge percentage in midterm and final), and better to learn from (like I know I learn more from quiz sections, but since the smaller sections are more spaced out but no quiz sections, I’m not so sure how well it might be).

Thanks.
