I am currently finishing my freshman year at UofM and am planning on majoring in Econ. I want to take Econ 402 next semester before I take 401 because 401 conflicts with other classes I want to take. Econ 401 is strongly recomended buy not requiered to take 402. I was wondering if anyone had any idea how difficult it would be to take 402 before 401.

I don't think it matters which one you take first. In fact, most schools teach Macro before teaching Micro. But you really want to ask the professor. If the Professor approaches 402 with the assumption you have taken 401, it could be hard to follow at times.

Thank you, I did take intro macro before micro and was fine(though I took the Macro class at Western Michigan and the Micro hear at UofM) and I've heard that in theory it really shouldn't matter which you take first. I only asked because in the description for 402 it says that 401 is strongly recommended and since I am taking a difficult schedule anyways I don't want to make things worse by taking a class I shouldnt be taking yet.
