For those of you who took both Econ 401 and Econ 402, do you really need 401 for 402? Can it be taken together? Will I have missed anything from 401 if I take them together?

I don’t think it is absolutely necessary. In the first unit of 402, you go through a simplified version of utility maximization (from 401) in multiple periods adding things like government spending and taxes. That’s the only thing I can remember where it might have been helpful to take 401 first. However, I really think that if you have trouble doing both at the same time, you’d have trouble doing them one after the other as well.

I took both at the same time. Got As in both.

^Yea, that means you should do it – you’ll get As in both.

Giants, how do you figure that? At least 401 is a legitimate class, it takes some work to get an A. It’s not one of those classes that is a guaranteed A.

^im sure hes not sarcastic at all
