Econ at Haverford

Any insight on Econ major at Haverford? How popular is it? What is a typical career path? What is the approach (freshwater/saltwater), etc.? Thanks for your help!

Econ is a fairly popular major here. The intro-level classes are hard to place out of and not very interesting, to put it mildly. Students who go on to take more advanced classes after suffering through one semester of intro econ seem happy about their experiences, though.

As far as career paths go, I know of a current econ major who worked at a Manhattan firm last summer, and I listened to a Haverford econ major grad speak a few months ago. He is now an investment banker.

Did you check out the econ department website? You can find more info and even check out some classes you can take: [Haverford College: Department of Economics : Welcome](Department of Economics | Haverford College)
And remember that you can also take classes at Bryn Mawr, Swat, and Penn.
