Econ calculus series question

I'm applying to transfer for next fall and I'd like to double major in econ. I'm having trouble registering for a Calc I class this fall which would mean that I wouldn't have the series completed when I transfer. I was thinking of taking UCB's calc classes through extension, but the econ department does not accept those.

So now I'm thinking that I could still take those classes or self study and then take the AP tests for Calc. Does the econ department accept those? Or would it be realistic to take the online classes, and then ask when I transfer to petition out of the class by taking the actual calculus tests?

Thanks!

I don’t believe you will be able to submit any AP test scores for tests taken after you’ve graduated high school (though you could confirm that with Berkeley’s Econ department). I’d probably try to take the Calc class at another local community college or online at another community college that is within a driving distance that is tolerable for you in order to wrap up the math sequence. In terms of placement tests at Berkeley, I believe this is what we have: [Calculus Diagnostic Placement Exam | Department of Mathematics at University of California Berkeley](http://math.berkeley.edu/courses/choosing/placement-exam), which seems to determine placement into, rather than beyond, Calc 1.
