So my high school doesn't offer AP Macro/Micro, you can take AP Gov/Econ in one year, which doesn't really prepare you for the exams. What I am really wondering is if colleges will give credit for 5s on the AP exams for Micro/Macro? Can you skip an intro class or will colleges say that for an Econ major there is no credit for high school econ? And also because my schools doesn't offer those classes, will hey accept transfer credit form an econ class at a local CC? Or will any of that be a waste of time because colleges won't give credit?

It depends on the college. More selective colleges won’t give credit (and even if they do, you do not want to accept credit…) while less selective colleges will.

Colleges should accept transfer credit from CC’s. Even if they don’t, it can’t hurt to take those classes – you get to learn more about your potential major and it looks better for college application.

Do most Of you guys agree with this? And would colleges like to see maybe a summer course or 2 at a CC or do internships and community service help more?

i’m an econ major at northwestern. i had ap credit for macro and micro and i had no problem placing into the higher classes from the start.

Yea I self studied AP micro and macro and got a 5 on both exams. I plan on being an econ major myself. Then I found out that my school offers econ online. That class was a total joke since I had already taken the exams. Basically, you should just take the courses, it looks better and helps you out in the long run.

Do most colleges, or for you, cavsfan, at NU, do they accept dual enrollment credit? There are a ton of options of either taking macro or micro online or at the CC a couple days a week over the summer, and I want to know if I can just place out of intro classes using the CC credit, and not doing the exams.
