Econ major: Course Selection

hi! I am MHC'12, wanna major in economics.
econ103&104 introduction to Macro/Micro are the basic courses to take before we move on to harder ones. So according to your experiences, is it better to take both in one semester, or take them seperately?
I want to move on faster but am afraid that the plan will have some problems. would it be boring taking two courses similar and just mess up the knowledge? and suggestion? thanks
BTW: i want to make some do some self study during this summer. so what textbook do you use at econ103/104, who's the professor?
