Econ Major Questions

I have a few questions regarding the econ major at Cal:

Do UGBA 101a and UGBA 101b satisfy the econ 100a and econ 100b reqs?

Is Intermediate econ theory basically an upper div. econ class?

What does it mean that econ is capped? Does it mean that they only accept a quota of students each year? So would it be harder to apply for the major during the summer as most spots are filled in the spring?

As a business intended student, I realized I should have been more careful about planning for econ as a backup. Now entering my second year, I still need to take econ 1, 100a, 100b, and the intermediate econ theory class. What would be the best way to juggle all these econ classes?

Thanks

No

Look at the course number, 100+ is upper division.

Econ is impacted major, more applications for admission are received during the priority filing period than the campus can accommodate.

100a and 100b subject matter doesn’t really overlap so both can be taken at once. Econ 1 is dumbed down mix of both 100a and 100b. Just don’t take too many at once.

Depends: If you took UGBA 101a before Summer 2009, it counts. UGBA 101b still counts as of right now.

Yes, it is. But you still need your other econ upper div electives.

You need to apply and can be rejected. No, they have a GPA standard.

Take Econ 1 Fall. Take Econ 100a Spring. You only need 1 intermediate course to declare.
