Alright, this may seem odd, but is it hard to get accepted in to RPI as an Econ major? I'm interested in majoring in Econ. Also, I noticed that there are only about 25% women in the school. Does anyone think the pure fact of being female will INCREASE the chances of getting into RPI, or maybe it could hurt them if they want to keep more males in the school?

I am a male and I am interested in ECON or Management. Not sure if it is easier or not. My SAT's are not great right now and I am hoping my excellent grades and activities grab me a spot at RPI.

Hey, if you don't mind me asking, how are your stats? My SATs are low too, about 1680.

Mine are 1730, but that was without prep a poor nights sleep. I am trying to get 2000 to 2100 this month. My rank is like top 16% and I have like a 3.7 -3.8 unweighted. 1000 church service hours since I was 8, National Honors Society, Beta Club, National History Club President (I founded the club in my school), Band, Radio, Track and Field, Math Team, Future Business Leaders of America President ( was reporter than treasurer before). I also am an altar server at my church and that's why I got 1000 hours. I did a lot of stuff for my church. I got the gettysburg college book award for excellence in American History, award for having high honors every quarter, math team award, and introduction to Business award. Some other stuff also. So yeah that's basically me.

Hey! My stats are about the same, but I definately don't have that many volunteer hours. Let's see... I have a 3.806 unweighted and about in the top 10% of my class. Well, the top 6% to be exact. Hopefully I'll see ya there next fall!
