Econ/math

If I major in econ/math but I don't take ap calculus bc (but I take AB and stats) will that hurt my chances of getting into that school for that major?

So you’re asking …
Option 1: AP Calculus AB + AP Statistic
Option 2: AP Calculus AB + AP Calculus BC

For selective colleges Option 2 is much better than Option 1.

That’s what I was asking thanks @fogcity‌

So therefore it will hurt my chances

How about major in business and minor in mathematical finance

Actually, most colleges don’t make a difference between Calc AB and Calc BC.
It does matter albeit very marginally AND only at these schools: Top 20 universities or Stem majors at top tech schools- ie., no one gets in because they took BC and someone else took AB, and no one is denied because they took AB. The selection is based on other things.
However, whatever you choose, you need to get a A, and absolutely nowhere below a B.
DO NOT take BC (or any other AP) if you’re not sure you can pull at least a B.
It matters less marginally at Caltech and HarveyMudd, where BC is more or less the standard basic class the average admitted student has taken in high school so if that’s where you’re applying, you do need to take BC and get an A.

Thank you…I got a C in precal honors 1st semster(I got a 0 on a test for personal reasons and I would have had a B) but my teacher let me into AB and this semester I got a B or B+. I am also looking at schools such as USC @myos1634

Also, will the C ^ hurt my chances of getting into a good school?

Since it’s a semester grade, it doesn’t matter much as your year grade is what matters most.
Stick to Calc AB because it sounds like BC could result in less than a B. USC will be pleased you took Calc and got more than a B, seriously most schools don’t differentiate.
One semester’s C won’t matter. Lots of them will, of course.

I will take AB next year but I am not sure what I should take senior year! BC or Stats? Again, this is for mathematical economics @MYOS1634‌

For mathematical economics, take BC senior year. Take stats in college, when it’ll be stronger. You’ll likely take 2 semesters of Stats for Economics anyway so it’s better if your first semester is college-level. BC will prepare you well for Calc3.
