Econ-MPA or Math?

Hello,

I am a sophomore with credits as a senior and my core is complete because I attended early college high school.
I just finished my first year at UT changing my major countless times… and I am trying to decided between the following options, do you have any advice? I took probability and differential equations and was not a fan of these math classes.

  1. Major in mathematics with a minor in sociology. I would finish in three semesters since I am already in the school of Natural Sciences. I could study abroad for a whole semester.
  2. Major in economics, minor in sociology, and attend graduate school for a year through the accelerated Econ-MPA program in order to become a CPA. I would have to switch to the school of Liberal Arts and I would finish in 5 semesters if I got into the program. I enjoyed my foundations of accounting class and micro, and macroecon.

I got into UT for math even though I applied for engineering. After this year, I am tired of not sticking to one major and I still do not know if it would be a guarantee to get into the MPA program. My GPA is a 3.6. I eventually want to live in New York City and work on Wall Street.

Do you have any insight?
