I'm applying to UCB as an Econ major, but UCLA as a Biz Econ

Now, the first question in personal statement, I only answer why I intend to major in Economics. I talk about joing economic club and took economics honors class. It has nothing to do with Biz econ, and I don't know if I should write more to Econ or Biz econ major.

Hmmm...Talk about how economics will help in business. Economic understanding is fundamental to business...see if you can intertwine the two along those lines.

Be as vague as you can. I was in the exact situation as you - applying econ for cal and bizecon for ucla. In my essay, I just said I was interested in Business AND Economics and tied the two together by finding the common ground among the two.

Adamantine, you are missing a major point here.
Writing down the proper name of your major isn't important. They already know which major you are applying cuz you wrote it down in the application.

The most important thing here is how you prepared yourself for the major (not talking about fulfilling major pre-reqs here; they want to know how you prepared yourself for this major outside academics) and showed interest in this major. Have you been following the news these days? Reading the Wall Street Journal? Have you ever invested? Worked at a Business/Finance related place such as accounting or a bank? Wrote a newspaper article about today's economy? Joined any related clubs or organizations? This is the kind of thing the adcoms want to know; they want to see if you are really interested in the major.
