Which is the best major for certain situations, and which have the biggest, and most paid jobs?

It sounds like you should be majoring in Accounting.

Certain situations? What do you mean by that?

For undergrad I don't think it would matter which one you pick, since a lot of the higher paid jobs you won't be qualified for with only an undergraduate degree. For graduate work, a degree in finance will probably provide more opportunities in the private sector, which usually means higher pay and lower job security. Fortunately both are pretty interesting fields, if you can land a job somewhere beyond a local bank.

Accounting is so boring that sometimes I wonder if the pay is relatively high simply because so few people would actually be willing to endure the monotony of that kind of work. But yes, you could also do undergraduate accounting, and it would lead to a comparable starting salary. It may even be 4 or 5 percent higher... but also far less interesting work IMO.
