ECON or MANAGEMENT SCIENCE

i am choosing between Berkeley's economic program and UCSD's management science program. Which is better for a future career in hopefully finance. also at berkeley i would have to apply for that major which i think is pretty competitive?? At UCSD would i hopefully have a better gpa. will my better gpa be better than going to ucb with a bad gpa? any 2 cents?

If you're considering Berkeley, and have aspirations of going into finance, you should be looking at Haas and not the econ department.

Management science is more suited for operations than finance.

haas undergrad is weak in finance

and what type do you wish to get in finance?

wow haas is way out of my league. im just lucky enough to get into berkeley. what do you mean management science is more operations? and sorry im not sure what kind of finance. i am kind of lost =/

haha if you're not sure what you want to do.. just go wherever and enjoy college

Berk for economics all day.

Many top students still get into BB IB jobs from Haas.

As for UCSD vs. Berkeley, I'd say go to Berkeley. UCSD is excellent as well but still not in the same league.
