Econ to CPA

Hi,
I was wondering if there are any Economics majors at UC Berkeley who are looking to get their CPA license for accounting. I'm a second year at a California community college. I was looking into Haas, but after reviewing all my academic work and what I need to take for this spring, I found out that I am not a qualified applicant to Haas. Right now I am looking at Economics as a major and was wondering if it was possible to meet CPA requirements, if I transfered there. I know that I will still need 30 more units, but I want to know if I'd be able to cover the other 48 units in undergrad as an econ major.
Thanks!

you should be fine, I’m currently a econ major (3rd year) aiming for CPA.

click the new resources for 2014 to see the new requirements, and scroll down because it really helps show what you need to take. you should also have a 2 year plan and do research on what accounting/econ classes you will be taking each semester that will go into your requirements for CPA (plan/research accordingly, since not every econ class is every year, and accounting classes can easily fill up). You should be able to finish most, if not all the units.

since it’s 150 units,
30 have to be accounting, and 38 have to be business related (which econ classes is totally perfect for), and 10 units of ethics. I’m planning to take ethic classes at community college during summer when I’m working (probably online ones or whatever) but it’s because I’m taking language class, which is 5 units and takes out a lot of space in a schedule.

^ hi, how many units do u usually take? also, is it hard to get into the accounting classes ? can we take accounting classes as pass no pass for cpa ? thanks
