econ transfer first quarter class

I'm a UCSB transfer student and my major is economics&accounting,I'm just wondering what course should I take for the first quarter, the writing course is already full :(
I already registered for the 10A course. What else should I take?
or does anyone know what is the graduation requirements for GE?

Take any upper division you can. Your new student profile will tell you what you need. 10a is our most important class right now. We need to pass it to get into our major.

Transfer econ student as well here.

thank you for your reply JustinS, but I cannot take the upper division courses until i finish the 10A and got a “B” or above. Do you have any suggestions for the elective courses that I can take for the first quarter? As the writing course are full i dont know what to take right now :frowning: Could you tell me what courses did you take for the first quarter? thank you very much!!

just upper overall, not econ. That’s what my friend said who graduated from there. I am taking anthro 134 and geography of ca. Try to find classes that you don’t mind taking. Also crashing 2 classes I want.

As an Econ transfer student, you don’t really need that writing class urgently. Any time in the next few quarters should be fine.

In terms of electives, you can take almost anything. These electives can be upper division or lower division, though I believe 2 need to be upper div in your 6 quarters at UCSB. You can take things like Geog 3A, Ess 2 or 3, or just about anything else.

At this point though, just taking Econ 10A and a bunch of electives should be okay. Plenty of people don’t take Econ 10A until the winter, so they have to do random electives for most of fall quarter. Don’t worry so much :)
