All the Econ 1a sections have at least 5 people wait listed. How likely is it that people will get off the wait list, or the professor will open more spots?

Also since I can’t edit my post and don’t want to flood the board with new threads:

How important are taking prereqs in order in econ at Davis?

Also "The department also does not recommend that students take any more than two upper division Economics courses in any given quarter. "

That sounds crazy. Can someone tell me if it’s really so rigorous that you can’t take a normal load of UD econ units?

Hey, what number are you on the waitlist & have you moved up the waitlist?, i’m also trying to get into the class

There’s a pretty good chance that at least some sections will open up. Wait list the section with the least people on the wait list and keep an eye on the other sections. There’s no guarantee you’ll get in, but a lot of people will drop.

I’m not positive, but I believe it’s pretty important for econ.

I’d imagine this has more to do with how impacted economics is and not due to course difficulty. Realistically you’ll start upper division in your sophomore year, and the major only requires 11 upper division courses. You shouldn’t need to take more than two economics courses per quarter unless you declare the major in your senior year.
