Economics and Information Systems major?

Just wondering how well an Economics major would complement an Information systems major...

I was thinking of doing an MPA... but was thinking career wise adding another major might be better than a low paying mpa major job and going into that line of work.

thanks for any comments on these. I could pick up an economics degree fairly quickly then possibly either do a masters in either applied econ or IS down the road if can find an affordable one I can keep my full time job with (I have worked in IT for 7 years)... or both? :I these along with philosophy are my 3 favorite subjects.

I am thinking it could be a good niche.

I definitely wouldn't mind doing consulting and taking contract work to have several months off in a row.

What is information systems? Don’t you have to have a concentration (like economics) within information systems, kinda like you do with applied math?

no i did undergrad in MIS to clarify … basically a quasi business / IT degree…
