Economics at CMU

I'm already a 1st year CS major here at CMU... but I have a sister who is a year below me who has to make her own college decision now...

She is considering CMU, Georgia Tech, UGA (we live in GA so Tech and UGA would be in-state public schools for her). Financial aid wise, she got about the same as me, maybe a little more, for CMU. It's still a lot of money, though.

If she went to CMU she would probably do Economics... how good is the Economics department here (rankings, whatever)? Is it worth the money since this would take a huge chunk of $ out of my family's financial nest, sending not one but two kids to CMU?

It has 6 Nobel econ laureates affiliated with it, tho one is a psychologist and none teach there anymore
