Economics at Harvard+Business at Sloan

As it is possible to cross-register between Harvard and MIT I heard that a fair amount of people who major in economics at Harvard take business courses at the MIT.

What I'd like to know if it's really worth it because its a considerably higher workload, from what I've heard. Also, does it put one in advance, compared to a regular Harvard econ grad, in respect to finance and consulting- interviews?

Furthermore, how much more do wall street firms recruit from wharton (undergrad) than from Harvard (econ majors)? Is there a considerable gap, at all?
And does a major from either Harvard or Wharton guarantee a position at a Wall Street firm??
