Should I go to UC San Diego or UC Davis? I have to make up my mind by friday! I would like to know which school is stronger in economics ( and where I can hopefully come out with strong math skills).

I am interesting in going into investment banking (although I know this almost impossible unless attending a heavily recruited school). I am also interested in consulting (i.e. Wealth management, but there are many types I am interested in) or some type of financial career on wallstreet, possibly in banking and on either the sales or buying side of things. If not these, I am not yet sure but I will probably work for a few years, gain experience, hopefully move up to managing an area or overseeing a part of a company and then go to grad school and earn an mba. I know mba programs take people from all undergraduate schools but it is the work experience and internships that will allow me to do what I want in consulting or mba programs. Which school will connect me with the right people and jobs to give me what I want?

Also what are the typical firms that hire and offer internships at these schools? This is the MOST IMPORTANT factor. I want to know about JOB PLACEMENT and how good the networking/career centers are at these places. Also how easy is it to earn a decent 50k salary within a couple years of graduating.

My main concern is academics. I am a transfer so I only have two years of school left. I know that campus life at UCSD is supposedly boring but if I have a car will I have enough to do there and how easy is it to meet people? Same questions for Davis. Also at SD I would be living in the village, how is the social life in the village?

Please help me out past and present students! I only have a few days and I am really torn. I like the UC Davis feel better and the social scene, but UC San Diego seems to have better econ and San Diego is by far superior, for me, to Davis. Thank you for all your help.
