Economics at UT Dallas

I am a transfer student from a CSU in California. I got into UT Dallas last year but ended up choosing the school near my home. I am applying to transfer to another school for many reasons and UTD is one of my safety schools. I would like to ideally pursue Finance or Economics. I have heard that the Jindal School is really good but I haven’t heard much about the School of Economics. Does anyone know how it is? If I want to do a Finance-Economics dual major, would I apply for that after getting in?

I recently graduated from UT Dallas with a finance degree and actually did take several economics courses.

UTD is ranked much higher for finance than it is for economics. (Top 40 business school)
In my opinion, the business school tends to have better professors and more varied courses.
The finance courses are also in a much nicer building and next to some very nice computer labs.

You don’t have to apply for the Finance-Economics dual major, you just have to take all courses on that degree plan.

What were your stats if you don’t mind me asking?
