Economics, Business, Finance, Accounting

Can anybody tell me the key difference between the four majors mentioned in the title?

I can see the difference between Econ and Business, and Business and Finance (Finance is a subcategory of Business), but I faili to see the difference between Finance and Accounting.

Don't they both get to do with management of asset and liability, and control of financial goods in regard to making criticial management decision?

in a veryy brief explanation, finance is more analytically based - analyze numbers and make a conclusion out of it (e.g. budgeting). accounting would be more number based - finding out the actual numbers.

um, buddy, it's the other way around

finance really consists of several area as does accounting. There is some overlap, but their jobs are very different.

For example, finance can involve corporat finanance, securities analysis or even personal financial planning, all of which are quite different in scope.
Personal financial planning is more psychology than number crunching.

Accounting involves auditing, tax, computer consulting, seting up internal controls and litigation support, all of which is quite different too.

Pure finance tends to be all about numbers. While accounting can be very numbers oriented, it is more akin to legal thinking and legal analysis and legal research.
