Economics(CAS) vs. SMG

<p>I will be attending BU in the fall and have been to the CAS for economics. I have a great passion for both economics and finance and would like to go into the banking field after college then pursue a MBA.</p>

<p>My questions are,</p>

<p>1) With the same GPA after 4 years, would it be significantly harder to find a job in my desired field with a degree in economics from the CAS than a degree from SMG?
2) If possible, when and how can I transfer to the SMG?</p>

<p>i would not recommend going into SMG if you want to go into IBanking</p>

<p>your best option would be to major in Math in CAS and add on some other helpful thing like Computer Science, Statistics or Economics</p>

<p>if you want to go into business its not the best idea to get a degree in business…you won’t offer much to a hedge fund or investment firm if you do that</p>
