I know it's in COLA, but it's still a math intensive major. I imagine it to be relatively difficult to get into compared to some of the other COLA majors. Let's say if I have all As with one B in my math and physics classses at ACC, is it easy to transfer into (my non math-centric courses all have Bs and Cs casue I messed around in high school)? It isn't my first choice I just want a second choice major that I might enjoy that isn't too hard to get into.

COLA is open enrollment with the exception of psychology. If you get accepted into COLA, nothing stops you from being an Econ major, so I imagine you wouldn’t get rejected from Economics because you got Bs in math and science course. I’m currently an Econ major at UT, ask any questions you would like.

So what GPA did you have that got you into COLA (if you don’t mind me asking)?

I actually got admitted to UT as a comp sci major in CNS. I am a military combat veteran that transferred with a 3.9.

How difficult is Econ? I’m in AP Econ right now & I love it-it’s pretty easy for me. However, I didn’t know how difficult it was at the higher levels. I would like to minor in it, but I didn’t know if it would be too much work along with a major in marketing.

I don’t know anything about marketing so ill avoid speculating. I’m only a sophomore, so I’m still in intro Econ classes which are not easy.

I’m also an Economics major at UT. This is my first semester at UT. I transferred in with a 3.44 GPA. I’m a sophomore so I haven’t taken any of the upper level Economics courses yet, but I did get As in both Macro and Micro. I also really enjoy Economics, so that may be why it is relatively easy for me. The only gripe that I have about the COLA at UT is the Foreign Language requirement. Ugh…
