Economics From an Average University

Hey everyone, first post here. Right now I am studying Computer Science at an average public university. While I like looking at my job prospects and potential salary-- I don't really like the subject all that much, nor am I that great at it.
I got into CS mainly because I felt my parents pressured me into it. I would like to know what everyone thinks about an economics degree from a school without much of a reputation in that field (my school is fairly well-known withing the state for their engineering/tech program). How does the job market look? I am afraid of graduating and working in sales or something, which to me seems worse than suffering through the CS degree.
So what do you think? Is a degree in Economics (with a fair amount of math) a bad choice? What would you do?
Thanks everyone.

It’s a great choice, can get you any business related job. The main upside of economics is it doesn’t pigeonhole you to any one field in business, they ALL relate back to economics. Just keep your grades high and you ll be in good shape

Does your AVERAGE university offer a Ph.D in Economics? If it is not a doctoral institution then the prestige of your BA/BS in Economics will be severely diminished.
