I think it’ll be difficult to find such a program. GIS is just a tool that increasingly is applied in various social sciences, but most GIS coursework will still be found in geog depts. A lot depends on what are your specific interests in econ and geog.

These would seem to be your options:
- The closest program might be found in geography depts. that offer an emphasis on economic geography and also coursework in GIS. You could probably take econ courses as electives.
- Another possibility is entering an econ dept, and taking GIS courses or getting a GIS certificate from the geography dept. as part of your coursework.
- Another alternative is to get a master’s or certificate in GIS first in a geography dept, and then apply to an econ dept.
- Still another option is to get a master’s in business or econ first, then apply to a geography dept.
- You might find relevant course work in a planning school or dept.

You probably could enter many geog depts. without an undergrad degree in geog, though you might have to make up some pre-requisites.

Depending on your specific econ interests, don’t overlook ag/resource economics depts (sometimes labeled as applied econ).
