Economics Graduates need advise

Hi, I graduated December of last year spending 2 years at CC and a 15 months at a UC with an economics degree (cum laude 3.77) (Math Background: All lower-div classes taken)

Due to my personal situation, I had/have two full-time jobs so far which I am very overqualified for so I didn't/don't get paid much.

I was thinking about doing the followings..
1) Econ PhD
2) Masters in Stats
3) Get a decent job after personal situation is fixed then MBA
4) Get a decent job after personal situation is fixed Government job(?)
*Number does not reflect my preference.

Also, graduate school's ranking/job placement matters a lot?

Please advise...
Thank you in advance

What are your preferences? A PhD in econ will require a minimum commitment of 5 years and if you don’t really have an interest in research, you’re wasting your time (and you wil probably not succeed). Is that something you want? Do you want a government job? Do you want an MBA? Your preferences are are the most important thing in making a decision.
