Economics Major at Non Ivy League School

Hey everybody, I want to become an economics major and plan on going to N.C State. I will probably also minor in mathematics. I have heard many times that it is not worth majoring in Economics unless you go to an Ivy League school like Yale or Harvard. Is this true? If i were to graduate with a high gpa and get my masters would I still have lots of job opportunities graduating from a non ivy league school?

I would ask the people at Duke’s Masters of Economics graduate program. They have the best respected Masters of Economics for professional economists in your region. If they think NC State’s program is solid. I’d assume that to be true.

This is their Ph.D
