If I want to transfer into an Economics major about what GPA will I need for each UC. I think it would higher than the average since economics is an impacted major?

For UC’s with TAGs, the GPA definitely does not have to be “super” high, but do the best you can since the higher the better for competitive UC’s. I mean, check out UCLA’s average GPA of admitted pre-economics majors for fall 2010. 3.95!
What schools are you most interested in?

Good luck :)

My top would have to be
- UCLA / UCB / USC
- SD
- Davis / Irvine / SB

1) As high as possible, 3.9+
2) For next year TAG will be 3.5, so higher than that.
3) I would say 3.2ish, maybe, I’m not sure. But it would basically just be the TAG GPA so you would be guaranteed.

^Yeah that seems pretty accurate. Make sure to not get a single B in any prereq for your first choices.

Avg admit GPA for Econ/Bus Econ @ UCLA is discouraging to say the least. thats why im scared to death of getting a bad grade in Calculus 1/2 =[

^You better be really good at math if you want to do econ… thats for sure. So take that opportunity to make your math skills a strength, and the grade you want will follow.^

I’m in the same position. I’m really scared about Calculus…
How hard are Calc 1/2/3 and Linear Algebra?

^ tough if you don’t study

a breeze if you do
