What would be the main differences between the econ major in cas and aem in cals. which one is easier to get into (im a new york state resident if that means anything)?

I think they're both equally difficult to get into, but if you're an NY resident AEM is the clear choice as you get to pay reduced tuition.

AEM is a pre-professional business track while an Econ major is a liberal arts approach to economics. Neither means that you have to go into business and both can get you jobs, as can any other major.

AEM needs to expand.. cant survive with 90 kids every year...

AEM is both easier to get into and a much easier major to succeed in. Although CALS is not Ivy League you'll most likely have far better grades in the AEM program which will ultimately lead to a better job. Also, you will have a better college experience in the AEM program because of how much of a joke it is. Also, the reduced tuition makes this a nobrainer for you.

umm...CALS is ivy...it's one of the seven (i think seven) schools that cornell has. all of which make up the ivy of cornell.

No way AEM will move up the ranks if they take 90 kids a year. Whats wrong with them?

Actually, once transfers are included, there are over 200 AEM graduates every year.

dohinchdohinc--i suggest you look into your info before you write something...

there are many ppl who were told that if they had applied to econ major they would've gotten in instead of aem.
