Economics major

<p>Best advice, regardless of college rank, major in what you want to major in.</p>

<p>The ivy league argument is such b.s. For one thing the number of ivy league students in the US is about .2% of all students nationwide. That .2% is not going to weigh very heavily on the overall starting salaries of certain majors if it does at all. The percentage of specifically economics majors from the ivy leagues in relation to the number of economics majors nationwide may be closer to 1%, but that’s still a very small weight in relation to the total. </p>

<p>For another thing top business students that come from the ivy leagues come from all sorts of majors such as history, english, sociology, psychology, math, physics etc… not just economics. So we would expect to see a similar, albeit smaller effect on the starting salaries of those majors as well.</p>
