I'm thinking about Economics and Math for majors. What's the difference between the Econ & Math joint major and just double-majoring in Econ and Math?

I know the class requirements are different (18 total for the joint major, 22 total for double), but is there a discrepancy between them? My only fear for the joint major is that maybe you won't get as in depth about materials as you would double-majoring in it. Help?
