Economics or attempt at Marshall?

I just finished my first semester and ended up with a 3.75 GPA. I'm undecided and thinking about a couple of options.

Declare the Economics/Mathematics BS.

Attempt to internal transfer to Marshall.

Requirements for transfer:
- Math 118: I got an A- in Math 126
- Writ 140: I got an A in Core 111, which is the Thematic Option equivalent of Writ 140.
- Econ 251x: All classes are filled for spring '11, which means I would have to take it fall '11 and delay my application. Previous years, students were allowed to take Econ 203 and 205 instead.

If I go for a Econ/Math, 251x won't go towards the degree, but if I take 203, it won't qualify me to apply to Marshall. I'm having trouble deciding which I should go for. I heard Marshall would have better resources and faculty and get priority for on-campus recruitment, and generally has a better reputation than the econ department at USC. However, I'm really interested in econ for its more quantitative and analytical aspects, but I haven't heard great things about the econ dept. Plus, I'm rather unsure as to whether I'll even get into Marshall, and worried that duplicating 203 and 251x would be a waste of time.

My third option is to minor in Marshall. Would recruiters look at that as favorably as they would a major in Marshall? Would I get the same resources?

Any suggestions? I don't have any career plans yet, just looking for whichever would leave me with the most/best opportunities and security. I have a full tuition scholarship, so transferring to a school with a better econ program is unlikely.

Thanks to whomever takes the time to read all that!
