Economics or Haas?

Which one do you recommend?

That would depend on what you are trying to do after graduation.

guess depending on what you want to do? want a good job right away then haas; want a grad degree than econ; everything else, there are many other majors there :XD

don’t worry about it right now, start out doing both and you’ll figure out which you like better. or can just double in both, it is not hard to do.

How difficult is it go get into Haas? I know this question has come up zillions of times before. But I just want to clarify.

What would you need to get into Haas? Is GPA very very important?

If there was a formula to get into Haas, it’d be a lot easier. Unfortunately, there is none. Keep your grades high.

So from what I’ve heard, you keep your grades high for 2 semesters, apply for Haas in the 3rd, and then hear back from them in the 4th?
Is that right?

I would suggest keeping your grades up for all 4 semester (just in-case) but yes, what you said is true.

The “most important” are probably your first 3 semesters’ grades.

What if you study abroad in the third semester? Can you still apply to Haas while you’re abroad? Because I want to study abroad my second year and I’m in a similar position where I’m thinking of doing Economics and then applying to Haas…
