I’m really interested in Bowdoin’s Economics department. I’ve heard that Bowdoin sends a ton of its graduates to Wall Street, but I’d like to follow the path of a future economist and get a PhD in Economics. Do you think this is possible with a Bowdoin degree? I’m not a fan of investment banking at all.

Yes, definitely. The way the economics department works is that everyone takes the core economics courses (macro, micro, stats, international) and then there a lot of specific classes, including multiple finance classes, more advanced macro/micro courses, math-econ courses, environmental and international. So many choices, so you can definitely go to graduate school in economics
