Which major offers the best opprotunities for employment or to go to business school?

for employment....actuarial mathematics

actuarial math. is wonderfully lucrative

How much money are we talking?

depends on performance. it's kind of like accounting. If you're dynamite, you start off at a top company and advance very fast and before you know it, you're very valuable. It's also like trading/quantative analysis - performance is everything. There's no generalized salary. But if you really want average, they start off around 45K but salary goes up with performance. If you're good, placement and salary go up exponentially. They also have to pass these exams that focus on probability/stats (very difficult). The job itself is amazing; what could possibly be more exciting than predicting, forecasting a company's fate and doing risk analysis? I have a friend in central michigan who's majoring in actuarial science (they have one of the best actuar. programs). She's very young and is graduating a year ahead (she's very talented in math) and her starting salary is well above average. I wouldn't surprised if someone like her become very wealthy within the next 10 years.

Do you need a grad degree for actuarial math?

Absolutely not.

Which schools have actuarial science or math majors?

I know Michigan, Florida State and UCSB have that major.

Others?

OK. I found this.
